The oppressive summer heat has gripped the valley, and work has halted on the trailer...for now.
If all goes as planned, the Shasta will be moved to Pine on Monday. But this morning - before my trip to Pine to level my parking space - I'm dismantling a wood library shelf that was given to me by our branch manager. It had been employed in our Friend's of The Library area, but it was deemed unsafe, as one of the shelves was not properly attached, and the whole thing was not anchored to the wall. I guess it's much easier to get new things than fix old things.
Anyway, my dad and I spent a bet of the hot morning taking the back off of it with a circular saw - this thing was actually glued together, then reinforced with screws. The back wall - to the left in the photo below, is actually 3/4" plywood. Very sturdy. I might be able to use parts or all of it for my desk area.
I'm loading the back into the truck to take with me today, but the rest of it stays until we can further dismantle it.
