Day 49

I was delighted to see that the second shipment of Havelock Wool had arrived!

I started working on the demo of the forward ceiling. I used a carpenter's square to get a straight line, and cut - very slowly - with the oscillating multi-tool:

I free-hand cut some lines within that square to make it easier to remove. Old insulation out in the first area:

Second area removed - I took the pic before pulling down the old insulation:

Final area and insulation removed. Also, those wires have got to go. The view facing forward from the center of the trailer:

In order to start installing ceiling boards, I needed to work from a wall, which meant putting in the "wall" over the door. Starting with the two backing boards (to allow room for the new insulation behind)...

The two wall boards - with new insulation - installed. The original upper board had a slight twist, and I fought with it for a while to make it fit properly, but I finally started over with a new board.

With only one "stud" on the ceiling, the area over the door was going to need a second board to be able to run screws into, so I found a piece that fit, and used dad's drill press to pre-drill the holes, then attached it to the stud:

First ceiling board in. Looking good so far...

Number two:

The third board had to be cut to fit around the top of the cabinet, so I used the bandsaw to cut, then fine-tuned it with a file. Also, the cabinet door had to first be removed in order to cut away some of the old ceiling board that was in the way:

Once again, I need another anchor point to put screws into, so I'll have to get another board and attach it to the forward stud. It'll have to wait until tomorrow morning...because heat.
