Day 48

This board had to be cut to fit around the top edge of the closet. Dad initially ran it through the band saw, but my measurements were slightly off, so I ended up shaving off more with a hand planer and rasp. Neatened it up a bit with files and sanding:

Finished! The final board was a piece of scrap plywood that only needed a little trimming to fit. It didn't look like the others, so I added it just for fun:

I didn't have a lot of time left, so instead of starting another ceiling area, I wanted to work on something I knew I could finish up. I'd picked up a strip of primed wood a while back. This seemed like a good time to work on that forward shelf.

I started by shaving the edge with a hand planer, then sanding the front and top to even everything up.

Front trim added. It's ready for paint. I still need to get some taller trim for that top edge, as well as decide what to do with that wall. Paint? Wallpaper? Choices...

I need to place another order for more Havelock wool, as there are only two batts left. It would be perfect timing for it to be here by next weekend!
