Before getting started, I made another trip to Home Depot - this time for small wood screws to attach the thin plywood walls to the newly constructed frame. I also picked up two 6-foot lengths of trim to conceal the area where the plywood walls meet the floor.

Everything lined up pretty well, with just a little bit of edge showing on top. Which I took down with a small planer and some sanding.
Lookin' good so far!
I wanted to close off the gap next to the door, so we cut and glued a piece of scrap into place. I'll secure it with screws at some point.
Dad came up with a 45 degree angle jig to allow us to drill the trim pieces in such a way that we could attach them with small nails.
Tomorrow, we finish cutting and fitting the top pieces!
