Day 117

So...various delays this week, including SNOW:

Thursday the 3rd was the first day this week that I was "in" Pine (as in, had time to work), and we got a snow storm which lasted into the night. The next morning, there was about 4-5 inches of snow on my roof (you can kind of see it in the pic below), so I had to head down to Payson to purchase a push broom to clear it.

There were other errands to run, and when I got back, the sun was behind clouds again, and the snow melting from the roof of the carport made entering/exiting the trailer difficult. I got a couple of boxes of books in and some tools out, but wasn't able to do much else.

That brings us to today - Saturday the 5th. I finally had a full, good day to work.

When I entered the trailer, it was pretty cold:

This was after setting up the space heater and getting a fire going. It was actually 31 degrees when I went in. I was tending the fire for the first hour and a half...and it's still off-gassing. It seemed worse this time, to the point where I couldn't be inside for long, so I went up to the house to let the fire burn out. I'm guessing that I still haven't passed the 20-30 hour burn time it takes to clear out the smell.

When I came back in, the temperature was in the 50's, so I got to work. First up - yesterday, I did place a few of my music books on the back corner shelf, as well as some magnets on the closet door. It's slowly starting to look like a home:

But...I digress. On to the actual work. It was time to frame that east-front window. Before the actual woodwork, I used a wire wheel attachment on one of my drills to clean up that metal a bit.

After that, I started on the left side:

...completing the other two sides, then assembling smaller pieces for the bottom, same as the opposite wall:

Then...adding a wall stud and installing wall panels to the right of the window:

The left side wasn't as easy. I had these stupid things to work around:

A wall stud needed to be installed right next to that left board, so I had to use the oscillating multi tool to dig out a space to fit over that round bit on the wall. Further hacking away with the chisel finally got the job done. Not pretty, but it's going to be hidden, so it doesn't matter:

Wall stud in place:

I took another length of wall stud and rip cut it in half to fit on the other side of those bolts:

Completing the final board installation for this area. It was a race against my body - once again, I was running on a Go Macro and some coffee earlier in the morning. Apparently, I'm not quite clever enough to know when to stop for lunch, and I had the shakes again. I was able to finish up this area before finally stopping for food and rest:

It was close to 5pm by this point. And I did have an engagement for the evening, so it was time to call it a day.
