The closet door is now in play:
...and I put down the first coat on the front of the closet itself. I like this Burgundy red, but - like the other colors on this project - it goes on pretty thin, so quite a few coats are needed:
More yellow in the forward shelf nooks. I just wanted to brighten these areas a little:
Firecracker red on the closet door!
First coats on the drawers. I'm grateful for the sunshine to help with the drying:
I took a short break from painting to finish up the dome frame with some screws:
The yellow strips on either side of the kitchen cabinets just looked a little too "kid's bedroom" to me, so I went over them with the Black Truffle. Better, I reckon:
Shifting gears for the afternoon, I started cutting and planing boards for the other side of the shelf tower between the door and the stove. Oiling and placing the first one:
I got three boards down - and thought I was making really good time - then I realized that I had forgotten about that little outward slope in the trailer wall...which was throwing off my measurements.
So the next few boards had to have the edge that meets the wall cut at a very slight angle - which I got by using a bevel angle finder - then I had to taper them a bit, with the thinner end toward the center of the trailer, so they would eventually level out. This was done free-hand on the band saw. Pain in the ass, honestly, but it worked:
I got nearly halfway done with the wall, when the light started going. With the exception of a short lunch break, I'd been at for around 12 hours. So I showered and rewarded myself with a very tasty IPA.
Oh also...I'm running low on fence boards long enough to use for this area, so I'm going to have to use shorter ones. Which means having a backing board in the center to attach them to. I cut one from scrap and placed it before quitting for the day:
