Day 82

It's supposed to be a rainy weekend...

Soon after I arrived, it did start raining. Since nothing big happened on Friday, most of this post is from Saturday. Though I did start painting the ceiling:

Whenever I couldn't be outside, I worked inside, mostly on painting various areas: the backs of cabinet doors, building up coats on cabinets, the ceiling, etc.

I recalled seeing that Harbor Freight had 11'x19' tarps on sale for $20. We also needed some wild bird seed, so I had to reasons to justify a trip down to Payson. The old green tarp was doing an admirable job, but it wasn't big enough to cover the whole roof. Hopefully this will help with the leaks until I can get the roof coated.

Sooz and I had been talking about the area around the forward ceiling dome. Even though my dad sealed it up pretty well, it must have leaked long before that, because the ceiling material was wrinkled around it:

We both agreed it might be best for me to just cut out the ceiling around the dome and just frame it with wood panels. So today was the day to start choppin'...

I'm really good at destroying stuff!

Instead of removing the existing insulation, I just pushed it back into the ceiling cavity to make room for the Havelock wool:

More coats on the forward ceiling:

Tomorrow, I should be able to tackle the wood panels for this area.
