Day 74

Painted back panel installed and sealed. After this photo, I also sealed up the screws to keep the water out. Unfortunately, the packing tape that I used to hold up the temporary plastic cover did not want to come off easily. I'll probably have to use Goo Gone or something to remove it. The paint on the top of that hump is looking a bit thin too. I might have to clean it up and spray a fresh coat. Next year.











 

Using the band saw to make angle cuts on the short 2x4s that will make up the back part of the desk support.

Toenailing (toescrewing?) the boards to the bottom 2x4:











 

There were some scrap pieces of old 2x4 in the rafters over the carport that I cut down and used between the vertical boards for support:











 

I cut two more pieces, one for each end...















 

...and two more crossbars:














 

 

I'm going to get some plywood to use for an inner wall, fastened to these supports. There will be a generous layer of insulation between it and the outer wall. Once that's in place, I can start building out the desk.
