Today was small task day - no big projects. The weather for today and tomorrow is in the mid 90s, so I feel like I've been gifted some extra time.
I didn't bother to get pics of all the small tasks. Like re-attaching some of the plastic cabinet trim with small nails, using steel wool to clean up the metal frames of windows, etc. But I did want to note the addition of some primed wood trim over the front shelf. I bought a piece from Home Depot, and cut it to the width of the top of the shelf - 90 inches. But when I tried to test-fit, I couldn't maneuver the piece into place because of the side cabinets. So I settled on cutting to two 45 inch lengths:
First piece installed:
Both pieces needed to be notched to fit around the side lip on each end of the shelf. Easy enough with my dad's band saw:
The second piece in place. Now I just need some trim pieces for the sides, and the shelf will be ready for paint.
The only drawback to installing that "step" on the ceiling about a week ago, was that - since the wood doesn't go the full width of the trailer in that area - it left a gap...big enough to see the insulation behind:
I selected a piece of scrap wall paneling and had dad trim it down with his radial arm saw:
A little filing and sanding, and it was good to go! Just had to pre-drill the holes and use really small nails:
Tomorrow, I'd like to trim that back ceiling where I'm installing more boards, so I marked the line today:
And of course, more demolition work on the rotted lower back wall:
Work continues tomorrow, although I am stopping at Harbor Freight on the way over to pick something up.
