Day 26

The first task of the day was drilling holes and attaching the end piece to the rear cabinets.

We finally installed and sealed the wood panel next to the door. I just need to get the insulation and vapor barrier in place, and we can close up this wall.

From the outside:

This vent(?) was bothering me - it was just screwed into a piece of wood on the other side of the metal wall, and nothing was preventing weather and moisture from entering through it. So...I cut a patch from the left over aluminum to replace it.

I cleared the old sealant off the wall and cleaned it up, then marked and drilled holes in the patch on my dad's drill press. The finished, sealed patch:

I wanted to start the process of building out a shelf and bench next to the door, and I had one long piece of 2"x3" board which would be a good candidate for the corner. I made a quick trip to Home Depot to pick up some brackets to attach it to the floor and ceiling, as well as a pack of screws to use when we do the final roof patch. Beam installed:

Ceiling bracket:

Next weekend, I'll be picking up more supplies, and - hopefully - we can knock out that last roof patch before it starts getting too hot.

I'm trying to juggle priorities right now... deciding the order of things can be a bit confusing when you're visualizing it all at once. More days off to work on the beast would be amazing.

The top priority next is the roof patch and finishing the counter area.
