I took a chance on ordering some parts off Amazon which would (hopefully) be compatible with my air intake setup. One thing I needed was a small, round screen to attach at the entrance to the air intake. If all goes well, this will keep most of the bugs out.
The screen more or less fit the round opening, but there was really no way to bend those tabs in a way which would keep it from falling out. Dad had the idea of drilling two small holes to secure it with screws on the lower edge of the lip (there was no way to put in screws at the top, since the hood prevents access with a drill).
While he got to work on that, I started measuring, cutting and sanding more boards to continue on the wall around the air intake. Space is tight along the left edge, so I went old school...and used my dad's hand-crank drill, which has a narrower chuck.
Building up, and adding insulation as I go.
Dad finished attaching the screen on the outside.
Didn't get as far as I would have liked, but the heat made us quit by noon.
The other part I ordered from Amazon was a round metal flange that I intended to use for a trim plate where the tube comes out of the wall, but it didn't fit. I've now learned to check for exact inside and outside diameters when shopping for parts like this. As with much of this trailer, I'll have to find a creative solution...
The flue pipes and roof exit kit for the stove have been ordered, and I'm really hoping they arrive by next weekend.
