I took down the blackboard next to the "kitchen" window, because I'm planning on cutting a sheet of metal to hang in it's place - for magnets!
On the opposite wall, removing the smaller chalk board exposed an open end of the cabinet. This will be closed off once the ceiling work is done.
And on that topic... there will be a lot of repair work to do in this area. The thin, rectangular space leads to an open vent on the roof. I'm going to unseal and pull it off, and patch the opening with sheet aluminum.
The AC has to go. I'm not going to use it, and it's just more extra weight.
Now that the ceiling is opened up, that sagging roof is making me nervous. Dad and I rigged up a temporary support.
With a lot of effort, we finally got the AC lifted and slid out of the way.
More shots of the temp support...
Closing up for the day!
